The Manager, Government Relations & Corporate Affairs will be responsible for managing relationships with key government stakeholders, particularly the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) and other relevant agencies. The role involves monitoring regulatory developments, advocating for favorable policies, ensuring compliance, advising and supporting business strategy in alignment with government policies. The ideal candidate should have strong government engagement experience, in-depth knowledge of banking and financial regulations, and the ability to communicate verbally and in writing to navigate Vietnam’s policy landscape effectively.
What you will do
- Government Relations & Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), Ministry of Finance (MOF), National Assembly committees, and other regulatory bodies.
- Act as the company’s representative in policy discussions, working groups, and consultations with SBV and relevant agencies.
- Provide insights on regulatory trends, policy changes, and government priorities affecting the company’s business.
- Coordinate meetings, dialogues, and networking events to enhance engagement with government officials and policymakers.
- Regulatory Affairs & Compliance Support
- Monitor and analyze laws, decrees, circulars, and policies issued by SBV and other regulators.
- Assess the impact of regulatory changes on the company’s operations and advise senior management accordingly.
- Work closely with the legal, compliance, and business teams to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Support the preparation of regulatory filings, licenses, and approvals required by SBV and other authorities.
- Policy Advocacy & Strategic Engagement
- Advocate for favorable regulatory frameworks that support business growth, innovation, and financial sector development.
- Collaborate with industry associations, think tanks, and policy advisory groups to influence policy discussions.
- Draft position papers, policy briefs, and advocacy materials to communicate key industry concerns to regulators.
- Engage in public-private dialogues and industry consultations to align business interests with national economic policies.
- Cross-Functional Coordination & Internal Advisory
- Provide regulatory insights and strategic recommendations to internal stakeholders, including senior management.
- Support product teams and business units in navigating regulatory challenges and obtaining necessary approvals.
- Develop training sessions and internal briefings on regulatory trends and compliance requirements.
- Crisis Management & Risk Mitigation
- Identify regulatory risks and emerging policy challenges that could impact the company’s operations.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to proactively address regulatory concerns.
- Work closely with public affairs, legal, and risk management teams to handle regulatory inquiries and government investigations.
What you will need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Public Policy, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
- 5+ years of experience in government relations, regulatory affairs, or public policy, preferably in financial services, fintech, or banking.
- Strong understanding of Vietnam’s financial regulatory environment, including SBV policies, fintech regulations, and capital market frameworks.
- Established network and experience working with SBV, MOF, National Assembly, and other key government stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities to assess regulatory impacts.
- Fluency in Vietnamese and English (both written and spoken).
- Experience in policy advocacy, regulatory compliance, or legal advisory is a plus.
