We are looking for a skilled and experienced PR Leader to manage our press relations, drive the development of high-impact content, and execute comprehensive media strategies. In this role, you will also oversee a team, providing leadership, training, and guidance to ensure the delivery of high-quality content that aligns with our brand’s voice and objectives.
What you will do
- Content Development
- Produce and oversee press releases, news articles, feature stories, and other media materials to enhance brand visibility.
- Ensure all content aligns with brand messaging, values, and audience needs.
- Media Planning and Strategy Execution
- Develop and implement media strategies to position the brand favorably in the press.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify key messaging, launch timelines, and promotional activities.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage media campaigns, including setting measurable goals, tracking performance, and adjusting as necessary.
- Oversee press engagement activities, including press releases, media kits, interview coordination, and press events, maximizing brand visibility and positive sentiment.
- Media Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with journalists, editors, and media professionals.
- Act as the main point of contact for press inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Identify opportunities for press coverage and media partnerships that enhance brand visibility.
- Manage the brand’s reputation, proactively addressing potential issues, mitigating negative press, and ensuring consistent brand messaging across all earned channels.
- Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of content creators, guiding them in best practices for media relations and content creation.
- Provide ongoing training and feedback to team members, helping them grow their skills in writing, media strategy, and campaign management.
- Oversee workload distribution, set clear objectives, and support team members in achieving content and strategic goals.
- Performance Analysis and Reporting
- Track and analyze the impact of content and media strategies, adjusting tactics based on performance data.
- Regularly report on KPIs and insights to inform future strategies and improve media engagement.
What you will need
- Experience: 5+ years in content development, journalism, public relations, or communications, with a strong background in media relations and team management.
- Skills:
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Strong planning and organizational abilities with a strategic approach to media planning.
- Proven leadership and team development skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building and maintaining media relationships.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the media landscape, content marketing principles, and public relations best practices.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
