The Team Lead, Operational Technologies is responsible for identifying operational inefficiencies and translating them into automation, AI-assisted workflows, and tech-powered solutions that fundamentally change how fintech operations run. This role is less about documenting how things work today and more about engineering how they should work tomorrow — using process design as the foundation for scalable technology implementation. The ideal candidate is equal parts operational thinker and technology driver, with the cross-functional credibility to align business, product, and engineering teams around a shared automation and AI adoption agenda.

Technology-Led Process Transformation

  • Systematically scan operational workflows across fintech business units to identify automation, AI, and technology substitution opportunities — prioritizing by impact, feasibility, and strategic fit
  • Lead the end-to-end process redesign of target workflows with a technology-first mindset — engineering future-state operating models built around automation, AI agents, and smart tooling rather than manual execution
  • Translate operational pain points and business requirements into structured, implementable technology specifications — including decision logic, data flows, trigger conditions, exception paths, and integration touchpoints
  • Drive the adoption of agentic AI, RPA, workflow orchestration, low-code platforms, and process intelligence tools across the organization
  • Build and maintain a prioritized pipeline of OpTech improvement opportunities, continuously sourcing new use cases through active operational engagement

AI & Automation Implementation

  • Act as the internal champion for AI and automation adoption — educating operational stakeholders on what's possible and building buy-in for technology-driven change
  • Partner with product and engineering teams as the process-side owner — ensuring automation solutions are operationally sound, edge-case ready, and built for real-world conditions
  • Pilot, test, and iterate on new automation and AI solutions before full-scale deployment — defining success criteria, stress-testing exception scenarios, and validating outcomes against baseline metrics
  • Evaluate and recommend operational technology tools suited to fintech use cases — RPA platforms, AI workflow tools, process mining software, and intelligent automation solutions
  • Stay ahead of the curve on emerging OpTech trends — proactively bringing relevant innovations (including LLM-based automation, agentic workflows, and AI co-pilots) into the improvement roadmap

Cross-functional Collaboration & Influence

  • Serve as the connective tissue between operations, product, technology, and business teams — ensuring technology solutions are grounded in operational reality and business value
  • Facilitate solution design sessions, technology walkthroughs, and alignment workshops with stakeholders ranging from front-line operators to senior leadership
  • Influence technology prioritization and roadmap decisions without formal authority — using structured thinking, data, and a clear articulation of operational value
  • Proactively identify cross-functional dependencies, integration risks, and adoption barriers before they become blockers

Operational Adoption & Impact Tracking

  • Own the go-live and adoption phase of technology implementations — ensuring operational teams are equipped, trained, and ready to work within new automated or AI-assisted workflows
  • Define and track technology impact metrics — automation rate, straight-through processing rate, manual effort reduction, error rate, and cost per transaction — to demonstrate and communicate ROI
  • Monitor post-launch performance of implemented solutions; surface issues rapidly and iterate in close collaboration with product and engineering
  • Contribute to building a repeatable OpTech delivery model — frameworks, playbooks, and assessment tools that accelerate future automation and AI initiatives across the PDI function

  • 3–5 years of experience in operational excellence, process improvement, or a technology-adjacent operations role — with a clear emphasis on automation and tech enablement over documentation
  • Demonstrated track record of implementing automation, AI-assisted workflows, or digital process solutions in an operational context — not just designing or mapping them
  • Hands-on experience with one or more automation or AI platforms — RPA (UiPath, Automation Anywhere), workflow automation (Power Automate, Make, Zapier), agentic AI tools, process mining (Celonis or equivalent), or low-code platforms
  • Ability to translate operational requirements into functional technology specifications — including decision trees, data flow diagrams, exception handling logic, and system integration requirements
  • Strong understanding of fintech operational domains — payment processing, promotions & comms, customer onboarding, KYC/KYB/AML, fraud operations, loan origination, or digital wallet management
  • Familiarity with fintech regulatory requirements (AML/CFT, PCI-DSS, SBV regulations) and their implications for automated process design
  • Comfortable working directly with product managers and engineers — able to speak the language of both operations and technology
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills — able to assess operational complexity, size automation opportunity, and build a compelling business case
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills — confident engaging peers, technical teams, and senior stakeholders across departments
  • Curious, self-directed, and delivery-focused — with a genuine interest in pushing the boundaries of what automation and AI can do in financial services operations
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
