As a Business Development Trainee in the Bank Partnerships team, you will be assigned projects related to the solutions and partnership development efforts with selected Bank and/or Financial institutions partners, which serve as the financial, cash flow and product infrastructure underlying MoMo’s products and services. This position supports the Business Development Team to coordinate closely with Product, Technology, Customer Experience, Account and Finance, Legal and other internal departments to bring deliver new initiatives and enhance existing solutions.

  • Optimise banking and FI service costs: 
    • Responsible for assigned partners’ banking and financial institutes (FI) service costs, including tracking, monitoring, reporting and implementing operational optimisations by coordinating internal stakeholders, and Group BD Manager;
    • Delivery and drive initiatives, including implementing solutions, with Product, Technology and Business Development team, ensuring MoMo’s positioning and commercial benefits;
    • Proactively anticipate and identify potential risks and issues that may impact MoMo’s products and services, and report with recommended mitigations;
  • Optimise service quality: 
    • Responsible for service quality, especially system integration and services’ success rate of assigned partners;
    • Delivery and follow initiatives for quality improvements, alternatives and service continuity;
    • Serve as Bank Partnerships’ owner in cross functional teams especially Product, Technology, Finance, Legal and other major internal stakeholders to deliver on projects with assigned Bank partners;
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of best practices with Banks and FIs;
    • Participate in a customer-centric culture within the team and consistently focus on delivering solutions that are engaging and highly adopted by customers;
  • Develop and deliver new bank services: 
    • Deliver new bank services by connecting MoMo’s product and service requirements with Bank partners’ capabilities and priorities, as guided and instructed by Group BD Manager or team leadership;
  • Partnership Management: 
    • Nurture of Bank and FI partnerships, in collaboration with the Business Development team, from identification, stakeholder management, integration, and successful relationship management;
    • Build strong relationships by understanding our partners’ business, responding promptly to partner requests/ inquiries and supporting their priorities to achieve growth in new and existing sectors;
    • Participate in building promotions and promoting business with banking partners;
    • Manage competing priorities among bank partners;

  • Outstanding Academic 
    • Background Minimum GPA of 3.2/4.0 or 8.0/10; 
    • Proficient in English: B2, IELTS 6.0, TOEIC 800, Cambridge C1; 
    • Less than 2 years of full-time work experience and available to join full-time;

  • Department-specific Requirements
    • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; Actively participate in extracurricular activities at university and/or social communities; 
    • Knowledge of the e-wallet market, payment intermediaries and banking systems; 
    • Experience in the financial services industry, with understanding of banking products/services and banking/fintech preferred; 
    • Project management skills; Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills; 
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and relationship building skills; 
    • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams; 
    • Exceptional sense of customer centricity; 
    • Experiences in extracurricular activities in relation to networking, partnership or business development, digital products and services and leadership is preferred.
